Yulia Kuklina, an employee of Metafrax Chemicals, took seventh place at the All-Russian competition of professional skills "Best in profession" among chemical analysis laboratory assistants.

The competition was held on August 19-23 at the site of the Target Industrial and Educational Center "Alabuga Polytech" (Republic of Tatarstan). 16 highly qualified specialists from 13 regions passed the federal stage of the competition – Tatarstan, Volgograd, Kirov, Leningrad, Orenburg, Rostov, Tambov, Tomsk and Tula regions, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk and Perm Regions, as well as Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous district.

At the theoretical test, the contestants answered twenty test questions about determining the content of chloride salts in oil, iron in gasoline, phenol and cresol in selective purification oils. There were also questions on the topics of safety, labor protection and the theory of physical and chemical methods of analysis. During the practical assignment, it was necessary to demonstrate knowledge of titrimetric and spectrophotometric analysis methods

According to the results of the competitive tests, our colleague took the seventh place, receiving 42.23 points.

– This is a cool experience! Considering that I still have little work experience and I had not participated in contests of such level before, everything was new. I'm happy with myself. We managed to cope with stress, because, for example, at some point the titrator stopped working. Someone would have panicked in my place, and all the work would have been in vain, but I managed to take it calmly," shared her impressions Julia Kuklina

Anna Mezentseva, a representative of the Perm Region, a research engineer at the Bureau of Analytical Chemistry of "Proton-PM", also became the winner of the competition. The "Best in Profession" competition is held annually by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia to increase the prestige of working professions, to reward the best workers in each nomination.
