Learning Lean production

In January of 2023, lean production trainings for young specialists and members of the primary trade union organization were launched at "Metafrax Chemicals". Previously, this unit was taught for participants of the "School of Masters" and "School of Management" programs.

Oksana Panchenkova, the Head of the rate setting service, conducted training on lean production at the "Metafrax" training center. The program involved introduction to the theory: lean production tools and methods, the 5C system as well as introduction to the experience of project implementation for the purpose of increasing labour productivity at the enterprise.

It was discussed which aspects of the production process are often built inefficiently and optimisation options were outlined. The practical part was a simulation of the process of creating plugs. It was proposed to distribute the roles of people involved in the process and execute the "order" twice – before obtaining knowledge on lean production and after. The result followed quickly: initially it was possible to assemble only 10 plugs in 10 minutes, while the entire order of 35 products was ready in 11 minutes with the acquired knowledge.

Nina Vanyukova, an engineer of the 2nd grade of the QMS bureau of the Quality Management Department, shared her knowledge in the area of efficiency implementation. Now each of the training participants knows how to show initiative to implement their own ideas into the operation of the enterprise. Natalia Kolbintseva, the Head of the Quality Management Department, spoke to the trainees about the quality management system and audits at the enterprise.

– The program is rich and interesting. The material is useful and relevant, it will undoubtedly be useful in our work in the future. Through a lean game, the teams have initially identified the problem areas of the production process, and then optimized it and reduced its lead time. I liked everything very much, - summarized Aleksandr Pirogov, a design engineer of the construction bureau.

The day of employees who took part in the lean production training was efficient – they were enriched with new knowledge and practical skills for further application at their workplaces.
