"Metafrax" is ready to consider the possibility of paying additional scholarships to medical students

Rashid Shakirov, Deputy General Director for Personnel and Social Affairs of "Metafrax Chemicals" PJSC, took part in a round table discussion regarding attraction of personnel to medical institutions of the Perm Region.

The discussion, which was attended by representatives of the regional government, the healthcare industry, industrial enterprises and the Perm State Medical University (PSMU), was held by Dmitry Makhonin, the Governor of the Perm region. The head of the region noted that the number of doctors in the Perm Region is insufficient, although it is somewhat better than the average in Russia and spoke about the measures taken to resolve this issue.

- From September 1st of this year, 5 specialized medical classes should be opened within the region. PSMU has organized targeted training of students and staff physicians and from this year a similar program has been operating for students of medical colleges. Several years ago, the programs "Zemskiy doctor" and "Zemskiy paramedic" were introduced. At the same time, not only the regional authorities, universities and medical institutions, but also municipalities, together with industrial enterprises that work within their territory, should be interested in solving the personnel issue in healthcare, - stated Dmitry Makhonin.

Currently, by order of the Governor, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Kama Region is forming the "Human Resources of Healthcare of the Perm Region" program. Dmitry Makhonin noted that during its development the best experience of attracting and securing medical personnel in the cities and districts of the region should be taken into account and summarized.

Representatives of industrial enterprises such as "Metafrax Chemicals" PJSC, "Uralkaliy" PJSC and "Solikamskbumprom" JSC shared their experience in support of medical institutions of the territories where these enterprises are located, in terms of attracting and securing medical personnel. Thus, Rashid Shakirov informed that in addition to providing corporate housing for doctors, the company is ready to consider the possibility of paying additional scholarships to target students, who will come to work in Gubakha after graduating from a medical university.

While concluding the meeting, Dmitry Makhonin noted that the experience of early career guidance and attraction of young specialists, which is gained at industrial enterprises, should be transferred to the healthcare industry and taken into account while planning a strategy to overcome the shortage of personnel in medicine.
