Yulia Kuklina, a laboratory assistant at the AUM complex of Metafrax Chemicals, became one of the winners of the regional stage of the professional skills competition among chemical analysis laboratory assistants. In August 2024, she will represent the Perm Region at the All-Russian professional competitions.
On the eve of Chemist's Day, Metafrax employees - Formalin workshop laboratory assistant Tatyana Davletkhuzina and AUM complex laboratory assistant Yulia Kuklina took part in the regional stage of the All-Russian professional skills competition "Best by profession" among chemical analysis laboratory assistants. The test took place in Gubakha at the site of the Ural Chemical Technology College (UCTC).
Traditionally, within the framework of the competition, the participants had to go through a theoretical stage and a practical task. According to the organizers, the tasks were selected in such a way that the participants showed their abilities in the most difficult conditions. In practice, the contestants determined the content of chloride salts in oil on an automatic titrator, as well as the iron content in gasoline on a spectrophotometer.
The work of the participants was closely monitored by the experts of the competition, which included Lyudmila Parshakova, a teacher at UCTC, Elena Zheleznova, a teacher at the Perm Chemical Technology College, and Dmitry Efremov, a specialist at CCDN LLC. They assessed the accuracy of the result obtained, proficiency in laboratory work techniques and task completion time.
As our participants admitted, the practice did not cause them difficulties, they have to deal with such techniques and analytical devices regularly at work, they have the skills and abilities to solve such problems, and they have experience in participating in corporate professional skills competitions. According to them, the theoretical part was more difficult.
Our participants showed a high level of skill, demonstrating good knowledge and professionalism. Yulia Kuklina became one of the winners of the regional stage. Together with Anna Mezentseva, an employee of Proton-PM JSC, she will represent the Perm Region at the All-Russian level. The best chemical analysis laboratory assistant in the country will be determined in the final of the competition, which will be held in August in Yelabuga (Republic of Tatarstan).
