The future of the chemical industry

The future of the chemical industry

Last Saturday, on 12th of April, a Single Open House Day was held at the Ural Chemical Technology College (UCTC), which brought together students from grades 8-9 of Gubakha's schools as well as their parents. The event allowed students to get closely acquainted with the prospects of future professional activities.

The central event of the day was an excursion to the Metafrax Chemicals' production site. About a 100 students took advantage of the unique opportunity to see the factory from the inside. The students visited the central control room and the methanol production laboratory. The students were particularly interested in the training room, where they were able to try on the role of a CCR operator, feeling responsible for managing complex production processes.

Within the college itself, the doors of workshops and laboratories were open to visitors. The students not only observed, but also actively participated in the workshops, trying the professions of a chemical process engineer, an operator and a repair fitter. Future specialists got acquainted with the tools and materials that college graduates will have to work with. At the same time, their parents could ask the UCTC management about all points of interest.

Such career-guidance tours became possible due to college's years-long cooperation with Metafrax Chemicals and participation in the "Professionalitet" federal project, where the company acted as the main partner of UCTC. A regional education and production cluster titled "Chemical Industry" was created at the college premises. Educational laboratories and workshops are furnished with the latest equipment and the educational programs focus on current production practices.

– The implementation of high technologies and energy-efficient solutions is impossible without qualified personnel. A long time ago, the management of our company made a strategically correct decision to cooperate with the Ural Chemical Technology College. The results of this work are evident – in 2023, we became the base employer of UCTC within the framework of the "Professionalitet" federal project. Every year, about 300 UCTC students intern with us, mastering modern technologies and acquiring practical skills necessary for both their studies and further professional activities,- noted Andrey Eremeev, Technical Director of Metafrax Chemicals JSC.
