Gubakha’s Ice Full of Stars

Gubakha’s Ice Full of Stars

150 young athletes took part in the Gubakha Figure Skating Championship for the prizes of Metafrax Chemicals.

For two days, representatives of the sports schools from Perm, Tchaikovsky, Krasnokamsk, Berezniki, Gubakha and Pyshma demonstrated their skills at the Gubakha Ice Arena. Very young athletes competed, performing according to the standards of "First Steps" and "Young Figure Skater", as well as holders of junior category and athletic title.

Metafrax Chemicals traditionally supports such events in the region, contributing to the development of physical education and sports. During the opening ceremony, Andrei Yeremeyev, Technical Director of the company, noted the importance of such initiatives for the raising of a healthy generation:

“For the fourth year, the Gubakha Ice Arena has been gathering young figure skaters from all over the Perm Territory. All these years, Metafrax Chemicals has been a partner of the competition. Sport fosters spirit, character, and discipline. This is very important for the health of children, the health of the nation and raising the social level of our town. We believe that such tournaments help children discover their talents and move forward to new heights. I wish all athletes to achieve high results, coaches to get satisfaction from the work they have done, and parents to experience vivid, turbulent emotions rooting for their children."

Nikolai Lazeikin, Head of Gubakha municipal district, also welcomed the championship participants. He thanked the main organizer and thought leader of the competition Ksenia Krasilnikova, world junior figure skating champion, international Master of Sports, Metafrax Chemicals for their systematic support, as well as athletes, their coaches and mentors.

Gubakha was represented by trainees of Ksenia Krasilnikova, and in each of the disciplines they climbed the victory podium. All winners and runner-ups were awarded with cups, medals, diplomas and gifts from Metafrax Chemicals.

Albert Khudaibirdin, Managing Director for Production at Metafrax Chemicals, commented on the results of the competition:

"I congratulate the Gubakha stars, their parents, coach and the staff of the Gubakha Sports School on their high results and wish them new sporting achievements. Like other enterprises within the JSC Ruschem, Metafrax is focused on the development of children's sports in the territories of its presence. In Gubakha, we work closely with the heads of sports complexes, coaches, and the town administration, and we meet regularly to understand where the bottlenecks are and what is most needed right now. For example, we have acquired uniforms, skates and sticks for hockey players. In figure skating, we helped to organize the competition. In general, in the ice arena, talking at the Cup of Evgeny Ketov, a native of Gubakha, we jointly decided to address the issue of lighting for the sports complex. This year, we plan to replace incandescent lamps with more modern and energy–intensive lamps so that children can continue to enjoy their favorite sports, such as hockey and figure skating, with even greater pleasure.”
