The Return of Art
Metafrax has once again supported the educational program of the Diaghilev Festival.
The Diaghilev Festival, one of the largest music forums in Russia, was held in Perm from June 20 to 29, 2024. For the eighth time, an educational program was held within the framework of the festival, which was attended by more than 70 people from 22 cities of Russia and Belarus.
Traditionally, the educational program was supported by Metafrax Chemicals. As in previous years, graduates of the previous year's program took part in the festival. The participants of the laboratory of historically informed performance created a project and presented it to the public by performing a concert of baroque music at the festival club. In addition, concerts were held in the cities of Perm Region – Kizel and Gremyachinsk.
— For the seventh year, Metafrax has been supporting the educational program of the festival. "Women in art" is an ambitious project that has set a precedent in cultural education. These are the educational and public awareness trends in art that are the focus of the patronage initiatives of the Metafrax Group. The uniqueness of the Women in Art program is that it is aimed at women of rare professions in art. The results exceed expectations: since 2018, more than 100 young musicians have received a unique experience, more than 80 master classes have been held, 3 opera premieres created by students of the program have been held. The concert program includes works by French, English, and Italian composers of the XVII century. They were performed by Svetlana Mursyakayeva (vocals), Varvara Kosova (violin), Elizaveta Lenkina (flute-traverso), Elena Shustik, Rene Strozhevskaya (viola da gamba), Evgenia Shkarupa (lute) and Nikita Korovin (baroque guitar). Creative meetings with young musicians were also held.
As part of the educational program of the Diaghilev Festival 2024, three laboratories were organized for students: the director's laboratory "Not only Opera", several meetings were held by director Anatoly Vasiliev, the laboratory for vocalists "Body and Voice", as well as the laboratory of choral skills. For 10 days, the participants of the youth festival choir studied with Vitaly Polonsky, Olga Vlasova, Theodor Currentzis and other masters. The final point was a concert at Diaghilev's House, where students performed both as part of the choir and as conductors. The concert was attended by the legendary choirmaster Vladimir Minin, who then shared his experience with the students.

The Diaghilev Festival is organized by the Diaghilev Foundation for the Support of Cultural Initiatives. The festival in 2024 is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Perm Region. The artistic director of the festival is Theodor Currentzis.
