The contest of youth and experience

The best among the electrical engineering personnel were identified at Metafrax Chemicals. The professional skills competition was traditionally held in the power supply workshop.
This year, five workshop workers toed the starting line of the professional competition. Among them are both experienced specialists, frequent winners of the competition as well as young, novice employees. Students of Kizel Polytechnical vocational school also decided to test their strength, knowledge and training. There were five participants among the future electricians as well.
At the opening of the professional competition, the contestants were greeted and addressed by Aleksandr Eske, Deputy Technical Director for Repairs, Dmitry Kuryshev, Chief Power Engineer of the enterprise, Andrey Goncharov, Head of the power supply department, Elena Bolotova, Head of the HR Department, and Ekaterina Rakovits, Deputy chairman of the trade union organisation.
The competition was held in two stages – theoretical and practical. At the first stage, employees had to complete a test of 155 questions in 30 minutes for the knowledge of the rules of design and technical operation of electrical units and electrical technology, labour protection rules and lean manufacturing tools. During the same timeframe, the students had to answer 65 questions correctly.
The practical stage was a difficult test for the participants. The students had to assemble a louver light as a matter of practice. The organisers have prepared two tasks for the employees at once – to assemble a reversible fan control circuit and a metering circuit for electric energy.
Each task was evaluated by experts - the heads of laboratories and workshop foremen. They considered the time required to complete the tasks, the correctness and quality of the work.
The intrigue of the contest – who will win this time: experience or youth - lasted until the finish line. And only the results put the participants in their rightful places. This year, the title of the best among the electrical engineering personnel was taken by the youngest participant, Aleksandr Gorelov, an electrician; the second place was taken by the most experienced electrician of the workshop - Vasily Yakushkin, and the third place was taken by Mikhail Teryokhin, an electric fitter.
- I must admit, the victory was unexpected - until the last moment I thought that I would come in second, the competition was very strong, - shared the winner - Aleksandr Gorelov.
This year, Stepan Pysin (first place), Konstantin Isakov (second place) and Andrey Khalezov (third place) became the best among the students of Kizel Polytechnical vocational school. Stepan and Andrey are interning at the power supply workshop of Metafrax Chemicals JSC.
The managers congratulated the participants and winners by awarding them with diplomas, bonuses and gifts. Ekaterina Rakovits, Deputy chairman of the trade union organisation of the enterprise, also presented bonuses to the members of the trade union.
