The results of the social campaign “Donate blood to save a life” were summed up

The donation campaign called "Donate blood to save a life" supported by the Government of Perm Krai and the largest companies in the region - Metafrax, LUKOIL-Permnefteprodukt, ER-Telekom and others - has come to an end.

On the 19th of November a press-conference took place in the Krai Administration where the results of the donation campaign were discussed.

It was noted that thanks to this campaign 3500 people were involved, which led to a 12% increase in total donorship of the Krai.

More than 1400 people became donors, among which there were employees of the participating companies as well as citizens. As a result of this campaign 574 litres of blood were collected. This campaign helped to build "donorship culture" of the Krai's citizens. According to people who organized the campaign one of the main results of it is giving information to citizens concerning donorship, particularly about the importance of donating blood more than once to qualify as a donor.

Nadezhda Kochurova, deputy chairperson of Perm Krai Government:

We are glad to see that this initiative attracted so many people who care about blood donation. Large companies' participation in it proves high social responsibility of corporations for health of our citizens. The campaign showed that the donorship problem might be solved, but it needs participation of authorities, businesses and people.

Rashid Shakirov, Director of Human Resources of Metafrax:

- Donorship campaign took place on 26th and 27th of June. About 230 citizens and employees participated. The campaign was included in our program for the 20th Anniversary celebration and showed a good example of collaboration between corporations and authorities. I'd like to thank everyone who participated.
