Leaders of Lean Manufacturing

The Metafrax team was among the winners of the lean manufacturing championship among the largest enterprises of the Perm Region.

At the site of the international petrochemical exhibition "Oil and Gas, Chemistry. TEK – 2024" On September 11, Perm hosted the penultimate stage of the Lean manufacturing championship #leanПС2024-Perm. The competition for engineering and technical personnel of the largest enterprises in the region was organized by the Center for the Development of the Production System of the Chemical Complex. The business game was held by the Kaizen Center.

The team of employees of Metafrax Chemicals performed well, taking second place in the competition. The victory was won by JSC UEC Aviadvigatel. PJSC Transneft is in third place. Following the results of the performance, Metafrax Chemicals was invited to the final game of the All-Russian network championship, which will be held in October at the international exhibition of chemical industry and science "Chemistry-2024" in Moscow.

Oksana Panchenkova, Head of the Operational Efficiency Department at JSC Metafrax Chemicals, noted that for the first time the company's representatives took part in lean manufacturing competitions at the regional level.

- It was interesting for us to communicate with active and creative teams. Our company has been implementing a lean production system not so long ago, but there are already results that we can be proud of," Oksana Panchenkova said. - For example, an institute of supervisors has been established and their training has been organized. This is a team of the most proactive professionals who promote the ideology of lean manufacturing directly in the workplace. In addition, the Provision for submitting Proposals for improvements has been put into effect. For the company, this is an opportunity to involve all employees in improvements so that everyone, seeing the loss, does not remain indifferent, but offers solutions. And for the employees of the PPU themselves, this is an opportunity to influence the development of the enterprise and receive monetary remuneration for it.

The first experience of lean manufacturing by Metafrax was gained in 2019, when the company joined the implementation of the activities of the national project "Labor Productivity". The practices developed at that time formed the basis for the company's next project to implement a lean production system, which started in 2023. A methodological base has been created, an organizational structure for project management has been developed, regulatory documentation has been developed, a constant collection of proposals for improvements has been organized and a mechanism for their implementation has been worked out.
