Bright Start of the Sports Autumn
Metafrax Group employees together with their children participated in a large–scale running festival: the Perm Marathon. The marathon was held for the sixth time and became one of the central sports events within the framework of the 300th anniversary of the regional capital.
About 12 thousand people from 42 regions of the country toed the starting line, from the youngest running enthusiasts to professionals. Everyone chose one of the seven distances depending on their physical fitness. Traditionally, guests and participants of the Perm Marathon were professional athletes. This time, Olympic champions in cross-country skiing Aleksandr Legkov, Denis Spitsov, Veronika Stepanova and world junior champion Savely Korostelev participated in the relay race.
“The Perm Marathon left an unforgettable experience! The marathon route was interesting and varied. Participants ran through beautiful parks, historical districts of the city and picturesque natural landscapes. The fan support created a unique atmosphere," said Evgeny Verkhovin, head of the station section of Metafrax-Inform, LLC. “Our entire team thanks the management of the company for the opportunity to take part in this sports festival in an organized manner. We are looking forward to next year to feel the adrenaline of the competition again, the beauty of nature and the inspiration from participating in such a wonderful event as the Perm Marathon”.
“This year I ran my first marathon, a distance of 10 km. I was very worried, but for nothing! The organization was wonderful, thousands of people from different cities were as one unit! I overcame the route without much effort, memories will remain for a whole year. I will definitely train and try my hand at new distances next year. There is only victory ahead!” reported Yelena Trunenkova, machine operator of pumping units of the water supply and disposal section.
“This year I decided to try myself at a distance of 21 km, I have been preparing for this race for a whole year. Next year I plan to run a half marathon again and improve my result," said Dmitry Sibilev, operator of the polyorganic and polyatomic alcohols production.
“Emotions overwhelm, when you see that top athletes such as Legkov, Spitsov, Stepanov, and Reunkov are running along the same streets with you. I easily ran a distance of 21 km, monitored the pulse, tried to cheer up all our people, whom I noticed on the oncoming lane. I was satisfied with my result and pace, taking into account my age and experience. Thanks to the company for participating and organizing the transfer!” shared Dmitry Alekseev, employee of the railway transport preparation and repair section.
