Volunteers Against the Disease

The number of bone marrow donors has increased in 2023 as part of the Mind Donation project, which is partnered with Metafrax Chemicals. 804 people were added in the National Register.

According to the project initiator, the Dedmorozim Charity Foundation, this significantly exceeds the result of 2022: 575 people.

Armen Garslyan, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Perm Territory, First Deputy Secretary of the regional branch of the United Russia Party: “Many thanks to the entire project team, namely, the staff of the Dedmorozim Foundation, Metafrax volunteers, and all concerned residents of the Perm Territory for giving children and adults with blood diseases a chance to save their lives. I hope that over time, joint efforts and extensive educational activity of public activists in different regions of Russia with the support of government and business will lead to the fact that becoming a bone marrow donor will be a common thing for every healthy person in our country.”

Metafrax Chemicals has been providing qualitative growth and systematic development of the project for 6 years. The partner's participation ensures the regular holding of various public events aimed at popularizing bone marrow donation. For example, in 2021, a team of volunteers was created, which was trained to further organize initiatives at enterprises and big events in both Perm and the Perm Territory. In 2022, a relay race of donor initiatives was held. Metafrax Chemicals also helped to organize the awarding of real bone marrow donors with commemorative medals and to hold two meetings of donors and recipients.

In 2024, the Mind Donation project was highly appreciated at the regional level. The initiative is supported by the Grant Fund of the Governor of the Perm Territory. At least 15 information meetings on bone marrow donation are planned at public events, enterprises and educational institutions of the region. Real donors will be awarded with unique commemorative tokens with the symbols of the Kama region.

A reminder note that bone marrow transplantation is the only chance for the recovery of patients with leukemia, lymphoma and a number of autoimmune diseases, when medicines and other treatments are already powerless. That's why doctors turn to bone marrow registries, where they can find people willing to share healthy cells with their genetic twins. See more on the foundation's website: link.
